What is grout haze?
Grout haze is a cloudy residue that forms on tile surfaces after grouting when grout particles dry on the face of the tile, typically requiring removal within 24 to 48 hours before the grout fully cures.
Grout haze forms when fine grout particles remain on the surface of tile after the grouting process. As the grout dries, these particles bond to the glazed or polished finish of the tile, creating a dull, milky film that obscures the tile's true color and sheen.
The haze appears even on professionally installed work because some grout residue naturally transfers to tile faces during application and tooling. What matters is timing.
